Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and complex conditions. The RN will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical changes, and collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, pain levels, and changes in patient condition.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status and clinical emergencies.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing, patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for medically complex, post-surgical, orthopedic, cardiac, or gastrointestinal patients.
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on patient population.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$61.23 - $66.11/hour
