Respiratory Therapist
Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess respiratory status, administer treatments, manage respiratory equipment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and oxygen needs.
- Administer oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and respiratory medications.
- Perform respiratory treatments, airway clearance, and pulmonary function testing as appropriate.
- Assist with airway management, intubation, and mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor ventilator settings and patient response to therapy.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment.
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Current Respiratory Therapist license or state-required credential.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- RRT credential preferred or required based on state and facility requirements.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
