Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess respiratory status, administer treatments, manage ventilatory support, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and evaluate patient respiratory status.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, nebulized medications, and other prescribed respiratory treatments.
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and non-invasive respiratory support.
- Assist with airway management, intubation, extubation, and emergency respiratory interventions.
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis as required.
- Monitor oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, lung sounds, and other respiratory parameters.
- Provide airway clearance, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene.
- Assist with ventilator setup, troubleshooting, and weaning protocols.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response and resuscitation activities.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, equipment, and home care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and respiratory care protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred/required based on position requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, airway management, and respiratory treatments.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous acute-care hospital, ICU, ED, NICU, or pulmonary care experience.
- Experience managing adult and/or pediatric ventilated patients.
- ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification preferred based on patient population.
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator weaning.
- Strong emergency response and airway management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
