Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care services to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess, treat, and monitor patients requiring respiratory therapy while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other prescribed respiratory therapies.
- Operate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpret results.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing and airway management procedures as appropriate.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response calls, and code blue events.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and modify treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, breathing techniques, medications, and equipment use.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- Active state Respiratory Care license, if required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred or required based on patient population.
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care, ventilator management, airway management, pulmonary diagnostics, and critical care principles.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
