Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care and therapeutic treatments for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess patient respiratory status, administer respiratory therapies, manage ventilator support, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, breathing treatments, and airway clearance therapies
- Set up, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpret results
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response calls, and code blue events
- Conduct pulmonary function testing and assist with diagnostic procedures as required
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, medications, and disease management
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Active, unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required or preferred based on assignment
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred for neonatal or pediatric settings
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, respiratory assessment, airway management, and critical care
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, ICU, NICU, PICU, emergency department, or pulmonary rehabilitation settings
- Previous travel or contract healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with advanced ventilator management and critical care procedures
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Licensure / Certifications:
- Active Respiratory Therapist License required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required or preferred based on facility requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred for applicable patient populations
- Additional specialty certifications preferred based on facility requirements
Pay Rate
$49.03 - $53.91/hour
