Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess patients, administer respiratory treatments, manage life-support equipment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other prescribed respiratory therapies
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and assist with interpretation of results
- Assist with airway management, intubation, extubation, bronchoscopy, and emergency respiratory procedures
- Perform pulmonary function testing (PFT) and other respiratory diagnostic procedures as assigned
- Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, medications, breathing techniques, and home respiratory equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice (where required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential as required by the facility
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred for pediatric or neonatal assignments
- Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway management, respiratory pharmacology, and critical care practices
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$46.60 - $51.48/hour
