Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The RRT will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory conditions while working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This role also serves as a clinical resource for respiratory care staff and may participate in quality improvement initiatives, mentoring, and special departmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and diagnostic testing, including arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation.
- Administer respiratory therapies, oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other prescribed treatments according to physician orders and department protocols.
- Initiate and manage respiratory care protocols based on patient assessment and clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patient response to treatment, evaluate outcomes, and modify interventions as appropriate.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory care equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, medications, and home care techniques.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Monitor respiratory supplies and equipment, reporting maintenance or inventory needs promptly.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to respiratory care staff, promoting best practices and professional development.
- Float to other departments within the scope of practice as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited, NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous acute care or hospital respiratory therapy experience is preferred.

Pay Rate
$79.74 - $84.62/hour
