Respiratory Therapist Technician

Provide respiratory care support to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist or healthcare provider. The Respiratory Therapist Technician will assist with treatments, monitor patients, maintain respiratory equipment, and support safe and effective respiratory care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with respiratory treatments and procedures according to established care plans.
  • Monitor patient respiratory status, oxygen levels, and vital signs.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain oxygen delivery and respiratory equipment.
  • Assist with nebulizer treatments, airway care, and other respiratory interventions as directed.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of ventilators and other respiratory devices.
  • Educate patients on basic respiratory equipment and treatment techniques.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain respiratory equipment according to infection control standards.
  • Report changes in patient condition or equipment concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with Respiratory Therapists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; respiratory care education preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist Technician certification or credentialing as required by the state.
  • Previous respiratory care or hospital experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of respiratory equipment, oxygen therapy, and infection control practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Pay Rate
$55.13 - $60.01/hour
