Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care and life-support services for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will assess patients, administer respiratory treatments, manage ventilators, perform diagnostic testing, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and airway clearance therapies.
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing and other respiratory diagnostic procedures as assigned.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response calls, and Code Blue situations.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, medications, equipment use, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- Active state Respiratory Therapist license if required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required or obtained within facility guidelines.
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred or required based on patient population.
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, respiratory care procedures, and critical care practices.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$55.13 - $60.01/hour
