Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The RRT will assess respiratory status, administer therapeutic treatments, manage ventilators, perform diagnostic testing, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies
- Initiate, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and pulmonary function testing as appropriate
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response, and code blue events
- Assist with airway management, intubation, extubation, and bronchoscopy procedures
- Monitor patient response to therapy and recommend modifications as needed
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Active, unrestricted Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
- Active state Respiratory Therapist license where required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Current PALS and NRP certifications preferred for facilities treating pediatric or neonatal patients
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway care, ABG interpretation, and respiratory assessment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills
Pay Rate
$60.91 - $65.79/hour
