Respiratory Care Practitioner / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Position Summary
Provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Assess respiratory status, deliver treatments, manage airway and ventilatory support, and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments and monitor patient condition.
- Administer oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and prescribed respiratory medications.
- Provide airway management, suctioning, and airway clearance therapies.
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Assist with emergency response, resuscitation, and critical-care procedures.
- Collect and analyze arterial blood gases as applicable.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and disease management.
- Monitor and report changes in respiratory status.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and respiratory care standards.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current RRT credential and state respiratory care license.
- Previous hospital or acute-care respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS and PALS certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$61.99 - $66.87/hour
