Respiratory Therapist (Resp Therapist)
Position Summary
Provide respiratory care to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions by assessing respiratory status, administering treatments, and supporting airway and ventilatory needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status and oxygenation.
- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and oxygen therapy.
- Manage ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
- Perform airway care, suctioning, and respiratory procedures.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and assist with resuscitation.
- Collect and monitor ABGs and other respiratory data as required.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment.
- Document treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the applicable state.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous respiratory care experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$55.89 - $60.77/hour
