Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Position Summary
Provide specialized respiratory care to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions. Assess respiratory status, administer treatments, manage respiratory equipment, and support airway and ventilatory needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status and oxygenation.
- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and oxygen therapy.
- Manage ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
- Perform airway care, suctioning, and respiratory procedures.
- Collect and monitor arterial blood gases (ABGs) as required.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and assist with resuscitation.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the applicable state.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required/preferred as applicable.
- Previous respiratory care experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certification required/preferred as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
