Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Position Summary
Provide specialized respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Assess respiratory status, administer treatments, manage respiratory equipment, and support patients requiring oxygen and ventilatory assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status, oxygenation, and vital signs.
- Provide respiratory treatments, including nebulizer and aerosol therapies.
- Administer oxygen and manage oxygen-delivery systems.
- Assist with airway management, suctioning, and ventilator support.
- Operate and monitor mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and assist with resuscitation.
- Perform and monitor arterial blood gas testing as applicable.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and treatment.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow safety and infection-control standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Current state respiratory care license as required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous hospital or acute-care respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, technical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency and high-acuity situations.
Pay Rate
$55.13 - $60.01/hour
