Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Provide specialized nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and treatment between intensive care and general medical-surgical care. The PCU RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, monitor cardiac and vital signs, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe, quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.
Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.
Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
Manage patients requiring telemetry and higher-acuity nursing care.
Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and emergencies.
Assist with procedures and specialized treatments as needed.
Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and treatment.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Follow infection control, patient safety, and PCU nursing standards.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Previous PCU, step-down, telemetry, ICU, or acute-care experience preferred.
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Pay Rate
$63.79 - $68.67/hour
