RN Outpatient Clinic – Job Description

An Outpatient Clinic RN provides nursing care to patients who visit a clinic for appointments, treatments, follow-ups, and routine or specialty care.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess patients and obtain vital signs and medical history.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as ordered.
Assist physicians and providers during examinations and procedures.
Perform patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Monitor patients and identify changes in their condition.
Coordinate referrals, appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.
Communicate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR.
Respond to patient calls and questions regarding symptoms, medications, and care plans.
Follow infection-control, safety, and clinic policies.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Common Requirements:

Active RN license in the applicable state.
BLS certification usually required.
Previous outpatient/clinic or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.

Pay Rate
$56.98 - $61.86/hour
