Provider Support: Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary
Provider Coverage: Intensivist - Medical Oncologist available daily by phone; in house 2 days/week; NP available in-house 1-2 days/week
Patient Diagnoses: Breast, bowel, bladder, brain, lung, gyn cancers, head and neck, prostate, pancreatic, lymphomas, multiple myelomas, chronic leukemias.
Chronic anemia, MDS, MS, Ulcerative colitis/chron's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: IV chemotherapy administration including bladder installations. Implanted port care, foley catheter installations, peripheral IV insertion, PICC line care. SQ/IM injections. Blood product administration
Special Equipment: Alaris infusion pumps; CADD infusion pumps; lab centrifuge.
Certifications Required: BLS; ONS/ONCC
Work Settings Required: Inpatient Oncology, Outpatient Oncology
Care of Patient With (Required): Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Breast cancer, Colorectal cancer, Kidney cancer, Lung cancerm Melanoma, Overian cancer, Uterine cancer, Prostate cancer
Chemotherapy Required: Monitoring Chemotherapy, Recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
IV therapy/Infusions Required: Accessing/Managing Ports, Administration of blood & blood products, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line care, Starting and maintaining IVs
Professional Knowledge and Skills Required: Care coordination
Psycholosocial Care Required: Patient/family education and support
