Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. The Med-Surg RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and promptly communicate concerns to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, post-discharge care, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, case managers, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and discharge planning
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions when necessary
- Supervise and delegate patient care activities to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Nursing Assistants as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Promote a compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care environment while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices, patient assessment, medication administration, and evidence-based care
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered, and high-quality nursing care
Pay Rate
$50.92 - $55.80/hour
