Special Procedures: Chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusion patients
Special Equipment: CADD
Certifications Required: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
Work Settings Required: Infusion Center, Outpatient oncology
Bone Marrow Transplant Required: Administration of bone marrow, CAR-T, Graft-versus-host disease, Stem cell therapies
Care of Patient Required: Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear/Nose/Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma Ovarian Cancer/Uterine Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer
Chemotherapy Required: Administration of chemotherapy, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values
IV Therapy/Infusions Required: Accessing/Managing Ports, Administration of blood & blood products, Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous hydration/multivitamins, PICC line care, PICC line care
Medications Required: Antibiotics, Antiemetics, Antitumor, Corticosteroids, Hormonal therapy, Neupogen
Oncologic Emergencies Required: Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Anaphylaxis, Extravasation injury, Sepsis
Pain Management Required: IV push narcotic agents, Transdermal patches
Professional Knowledge and Skills Required: Care coordination, Colostomy/ileostomy management/care, Foley catheter insertion/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Neutropenic precautions, Phlebotomy skills, Telephone Triage, Tracheostomy care/management, Wound care
Psychosocial Care Required: Advanced directives, Patient/family education and support
Symptom Management Required: Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy
Surgery Required: Post surgical care
