Job Details
A Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses, focusing on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life rather than curative treatment. The RN works closely with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary hospice team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments for pain and symptom management.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the physician and care team.
• Educate patients and family members on disease progression, medications, and end-of-life care.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
• Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, policies, and standards of care.
Qualifications:
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification (required).
• Previous hospice, home health, palliative care, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong communication, assessment, and patient advocacy skills.
Pay Rate
$69.85 - $74.73/hour
