Acute Care units consist of:
4- Intensive care unit- general medical/ surgical patients
5- Acute Care neuro/ Stroke
6- Acute Care Cardiology
7- Acute Care Oncology/ Stoke
8- Acute Care Post op/ Orthopedic
Special Procedures/Unit Details
ICU- Ventilator management, invasive lines renal replacement therapy
Acute Care: cath lab, mri/ pet scan, endoscopy, in house dialysis
Work Settings Required: Acute Hospital, Long Term Acute Care/Rehab/Skilled Nursing
Acute Hospital Experience by Specialty Required: MS
Case Management/Utilization Review Required: Admission Criteria, Appeals and Denials, Care coordination, Determine Medical Necessity per Evidence-Based Guidelines, Discharge Planning, Disease management, Needs Assessment/ Order DME, Plan of Care, Pre-Cert Review, Prior Authorizations
Regulatory Required: CMS: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health, HIPAA guidelines, OSHA, The Joint Commission/Core Measure, National Safety Goals
