Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural anesthesia. The PACU RN will monitor patients during the immediate recovery phase, manage pain and complications, and collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to ensure safe patient transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor patients recovering from general, regional, or moderate sedation anesthesia
• Perform comprehensive post-operative assessments, including airway, vital signs, and level of consciousness
• Manage pain, nausea, and other post-anesthesia symptoms
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed
• Identify and respond promptly to post-operative complications or changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Ensure adherence to patient safety standards, infection control policies, and PACU protocols
• Prepare patients for transfer, discharge, or admission to inpatient units
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Nursing degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s required; BSN preferred)
• Previous PACU, critical care, ER, or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to delivering safe, patient-centered post-anesthesia care
Pay Rate
$65.04 - $69.92/hour
