Registered Nurse – Operating Room Circulator
Position Summary
Provide skilled perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery while maintaining a safe, efficient, and sterile operating room environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Verify patient identity, procedure, consent, and surgical site.
- Coordinate operating room activities and ensure surgical supplies and equipment are ready.
- Serve as the circulating RN during surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes or emergencies.
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and safety checks.
- Perform and document surgical counts with the scrub team.
- Ensure proper specimen handling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely perioperative records.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control, patient safety, and perioperative standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred or as applicable.
- Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
