Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns. The RN will monitor neonatal conditions, administer medications and treatments, support respiratory care, educate families, and collaborate with the neonatal care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of premature and critically ill newborns.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygenation, cardiac rhythms, temperature, and other neonatal parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, nutrition, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely.
  • Provide care for infants requiring oxygen therapy, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory support.
  • Manage IV lines, central lines, feeding tubes, and other neonatal equipment as appropriate.
  • Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and report significant changes promptly.
  • Assist with neonatal procedures and respond to clinical emergencies.
  • Support feeding, growth, thermoregulation, developmental care, and skin integrity.
  • Educate and support parents and families regarding newborn care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and neonatal care protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • Current ACLS certification preferred/required based on assignment requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent NICU or neonatal nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment, respiratory support, medication administration, and critical care.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity neonatal environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous Level II or Level III NICU experience.
  • Experience caring for premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns.
  • Experience with ventilators, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, umbilical lines, and central lines.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification preferred.
  • Experience with neonatal emergencies and resuscitation.
  • Strong family education and developmental-care skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, family-centered neonatal care.

Pay Rate
$98.58 - $103.46/hour
