Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN to provide care for patients in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit settings. The RN will monitor cardiac and clinical status, administer medications and treatments, recognize changes in condition, and coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and other clinical parameters.
- Provide continuous telemetry monitoring and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Care for patients requiring higher-acuity monitoring and interventions in the PCU setting.
- Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes promptly.
- Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration and emergency situations.
- Manage IV lines, central lines, drains, catheters, and other devices as appropriate.
- Assist with procedures and coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Participate in admissions, transfers, care planning, and discharge planning.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg, Telemetry, PCU, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills.
- Experience with high-flow oxygen, cardiac drips, and other progressive-care interventions preferred.
- ACLS certification required/preferred based on assignment.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
