Position Summary:
We are seeking a Registered Echocardiography Technologist to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations and provide high-quality images and measurements for physician interpretation. The technologist will evaluate cardiac structures and function, operate specialized equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Obtain high-quality 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color-flow images.
- Perform accurate cardiac measurements and calculations.
- Evaluate images for completeness, quality, and diagnostic value.
- Assist with stress echocardiograms and other cardiac imaging procedures as required.
- Explain procedures to patients and maintain comfort, privacy, and safety.
- Operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of echocardiography equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient information, measurements, and examination documentation.
- Upload and manage images through PACS and cardiovascular information systems.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and departmental protocols.
- Communicate technical concerns or urgent findings according to established procedures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential required/preferred based on assignment requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent echocardiography experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and echocardiographic techniques.
- Ability to obtain technically accurate diagnostic images.
- Excellent communication, technical, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with PACS and cardiovascular information systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with adult transthoracic echocardiography.
- Experience with stress echocardiography preferred.
- Knowledge of Doppler measurements, ventricular function, valve assessment, and cardiac hemodynamics.
- Previous hospital, cardiology, or outpatient imaging experience.
- Strong attention to detail and image-quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cardiovascular imaging environment.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
