Job Description – X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist)
An X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to help physicians diagnose and treat injuries and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by physicians.
- Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality images.
- Explain imaging procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain X-ray equipment according to safety standards.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Verify patient identity and imaging orders before each procedure.
- Review images for quality and repeat scans if necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the EMR/PACS system.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure imaging rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and functioning properly.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current state Radiologic Technologist license (if required)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (R.T. (R))
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (facility dependent)
X-Ray Technologists play a vital role in diagnosing fractures, infections, lung diseases, joint conditions, and other medical issues by producing clear, accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Pay Rate
$57.74 - $62.61/hour
