Position Summary:
An Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The IR Tech prepares patients and equipment, operates advanced imaging systems, maintains a sterile environment, and ensures patient safety throughout procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare procedure rooms, imaging equipment, and sterile supplies for interventional procedures.
- Assist physicians during vascular and non-vascular image-guided procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopy, digital imaging, and other radiologic equipment.
- Position patients correctly and ensure their comfort and safety throughout procedures.
- Administer contrast media as permitted by facility policy and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards.
- Monitor and document patient information before, during, and after procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of imaging equipment and supplies.
- Accurately document procedures using the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Active ARRT (R) certification.
- State Radiologic Technologist license (if required by the state).
- Current BLS certification.
Pay Rate
$81.77 - $86.65/hour
