Radiation Therapist
Position Summary
Provide radiation therapy treatments to patients with cancer and other conditions requiring radiation therapy. Operate specialized equipment safely and accurately while supporting patient comfort and quality care throughout treatment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and explain radiation therapy procedures.
- Position patients accurately and administer prescribed radiation treatments.
- Operate and monitor radiation therapy equipment according to established protocols.
- Verify treatment plans, patient identity, and treatment parameters before each session.
- Monitor patients for reactions or changes in condition during treatment.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and clinical documentation.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues.
- Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient safety standards.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) preferred or required as applicable.
- Current state license or registration, if required.
- Previous radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.
Pay Rate
$61.92 - $66.80/hour
