Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The Rad Tech will operate imaging equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and imaging protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for imaging procedures
- Operate digital radiography and portable X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Evaluate image quality and repeat studies when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PACS, and Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Follow radiation safety principles (ALARA) and ensure proper use of radiation protection devices
- Perform routine quality control and maintenance of imaging equipment
- Assist with trauma, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and surgical imaging procedures as needed
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Active state Radiologic Technologist license where required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent diagnostic radiology experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, imaging techniques, and radiation safety
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hospital, trauma, emergency, outpatient, or surgical imaging settings
- Experience with portable radiography and C-arm imaging preferred
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
- Cross-training in CT, MRI, or Fluoroscopy is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$67.33 - $72.21/hour
