Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist Physical Therapists in delivering rehabilitation services that improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence. The PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, educate patients and caregivers, and contribute to achieving optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions.
- Assist patients in improving strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and range of motion.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, body mechanics, and safe mobility techniques.
- Assist with the use of assistive devices, mobility aids, and therapeutic equipment.
- Document treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PTA experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, patient mobility, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$41.41 - $46.29/hour
