Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence, and contribute to achieving optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility activities
- Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
- Assist with the use of assistive devices, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient care principles
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing, home health, orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric settings
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to manage a diverse rehabilitation caseload in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Pay Rate
$33.79 - $38.67/hour
