Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide outpatient rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence through individualized therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
- Assist patients with strengthening, flexibility, coordination, and functional activities.
- Provide manual therapy and other interventions within scope of practice.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs, safety, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
- Assist patients with appropriate assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation in the EMR.
- Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active PTA license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PTA experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation techniques, and functional mobility.
- Excellent communication, organization, clinical, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous outpatient physical therapy experience.
- Experience treating orthopedic, musculoskeletal, sports-related, post-surgical, or neurological conditions.
- Strong knowledge of exercise progression and patient education.
- Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently in an outpatient setting.
- Strong teamwork and time-management skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$37.60 - $42.48/hour
