Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Obstetric Registered Nurse (OB RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to pregnant patients throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, administer medications and treatments, assist with deliveries, and provide education and support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maternal and fetal assessments throughout labor and delivery.
  • Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, vital signs, and maternal condition.
  • Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries as required.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, oxytocin, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies and changes in maternal or fetal status.
  • Assist with epidural/spinal procedures and monitor patients following anesthesia.
  • Provide postpartum and newborn care, including maternal recovery assessments.
  • Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, breastfeeding, postpartum care, and newborn safety.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia providers, neonatology teams, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and obstetric care protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Current NRP certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery/OB nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal-fetal assessment, labor management, and obstetric nursing.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, or high-risk OB experience.
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, induction of labor, and cesarean deliveries.
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring certification preferred.
  • Experience managing obstetric emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maternity environment.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
