Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / PACU / Pre-Post Cath & Procedural
Provide specialized nursing care to patients before and after surgical, cardiac catheterization, and other diagnostic or interventional procedures. The RN will prepare patients for procedures, monitor recovery, manage medications and treatments, and ensure safe transitions throughout the perioperative and procedural care process.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-procedure assessments and review patient history, medications, and clinical information.
- Prepare patients for surgery, cardiac catheterization, and other procedures.
- Establish IV access and administer medications, fluids, and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor patients during post-anesthesia and procedural recovery.
- Assess vital signs, airway, pain, neurological status, and recovery progress.
- Recognize and respond promptly to complications or changes in patient condition.
- Provide post-procedure care, education, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiology staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Follow infection control, procedural safety, and patient care standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous Pre-Op, PACU, Cath Lab, procedural, or perioperative experience preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required/preferred as applicable.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
