Polysomnographer
We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographer to perform and monitor sleep studies to evaluate sleep disorders and support accurate diagnosis. The Polysomnographer will prepare patients, operate sleep-study equipment, monitor physiological data, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout testing.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and explain sleep study procedures and expectations.
- Apply and connect electrodes, sensors, and monitoring equipment accurately.
- Perform overnight polysomnography and other sleep studies as required.
- Monitor brain activity, heart rate, oxygen levels, breathing, movements, and other physiological signals.
- Identify and document significant changes or events during studies.
- Perform and monitor CPAP/BiPAP titration according to established protocols.
- Troubleshoot equipment and signal-quality issues during testing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and sleep study documentation.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Follow infection prevention and laboratory/sleep center safety standards.
- Prepare collected data and reports for physician interpretation.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technology or related program preferred.
- Current sleep technology credential such as RPSGT or equivalent preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous sleep laboratory or clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sleep disorders, polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP, and physiological monitoring.
- Strong technical, observation, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work overnight shifts and remain attentive throughout sleep studies.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, professional, and patient-focused.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
