Polysomnographer

Position Summary

Perform and monitor sleep studies to evaluate patients for sleep-related disorders. Prepare patients and equipment, monitor physiological data during studies, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and explain sleep study procedures.
  • Set up and calibrate polysomnographic equipment and sensors.
  • Conduct overnight and other diagnostic sleep studies according to established protocols.
  • Monitor EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, oxygen saturation, respiratory patterns, and other physiological data.
  • Identify and document abnormal events or changes during sleep studies.
  • Respond appropriately to patient needs and clinical changes during testing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sleep study documentation.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to safety standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and signal-quality issues.
  • Follow infection-control, patient safety, and sleep laboratory standards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Polysomnography or Sleep Technology program preferred.
  • Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent credential preferred or required as applicable.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.
  • Previous sleep laboratory or polysomnography experience preferred.
  • Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.

Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
