Polysomnographer
Position Summary
Perform and monitor overnight sleep studies to evaluate patients for sleep-related disorders. Operate sleep monitoring equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and accurately document study results.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and explain sleep study procedures and expectations.
- Apply and calibrate EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, airflow, respiratory, and oxygen monitoring sensors.
- Monitor patients and recording equipment throughout sleep studies.
- Identify and document sleep events, abnormal patterns, and changes in patient condition.
- Perform and monitor CPAP/BiPAP titration studies as directed.
- Troubleshoot equipment and signal-quality issues during studies.
- Maintain accurate study documentation and prepare data for physician interpretation.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and laboratory procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal sleep technology training preferred.
- Registered/Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT/CPSGT) preferred or required as applicable.
- Previous sleep laboratory or polysomnography experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sleep study equipment, scoring, and monitoring procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
