Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Position Summary
Provide skilled physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities.
- Assist patients with improving strength, balance, coordination, and range of motion.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and home programs.
- Assist with transfers, positioning, gait training, and safe mobility.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation and healthcare team.
- Follow patient safety and infection-control standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license or certification in the applicable state.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- BLS certification preferred/required as applicable.
Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
