Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Provide skilled physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence. The PTA will implement treatment plans, monitor patient responses, and provide safe, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and functional activities.
- Monitor patient responses and report changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and safety techniques.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow infection control and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license or certification as required by the state.
- Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Strong patient-care, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
Pay Rate
$41.28 - $46.16/hour
