Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence through individualized therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and functional activities.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and home programs.
- Assist with therapeutic equipment and adaptive devices.
- Maintain accurate treatment documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PTA experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, rehabilitation techniques, mobility training, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, home health, or long-term care settings.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, or medically complex patients.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
- Strong time-management and clinical documentation skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$31.00 - $36.00/hour
