Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence, and support recovery from injury, illness, or surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and mobility interventions
- Assist patients in improving strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and functional mobility
- Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and mobility aids
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety techniques
- Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and patient care
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, or geriatric settings
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, or medically complex patients
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload in a fast-paced environment
Pay Rate
$34.44 - $39.32/hour
