Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will implement treatment plans, assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence, and support recovery from injury, illness, or surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and mobility interventions
- Assist patients in improving strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and functional mobility
- Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and mobility aids
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and injury prevention
- Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and patient care practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
Pay Rate
$42.80 - $47.68/hour
