Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services. The PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving mobility, strength, and functional independence, and support patients throughout their recovery journey with compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility activities
- Assist patients in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, balance, and range of motion
- Apply therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques within the PTA scope of practice
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, fall prevention, and the proper use of assistive devices
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and mobility using safe patient handling techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, discharge planning, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Promote patient independence, functional recovery, and overall well-being through evidence-based rehabilitation care
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise techniques, anatomy, and patient care practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Strong clinical observation, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care
Pay Rate
$41.28 - $46.16/hour
