Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients with injuries, illnesses, disabilities, or functional impairments. Working under the direction of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and caregivers to help restore mobility, improve strength and function, reduce pain, and maximize independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility activities
• Provide therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation interventions within the scope of practice and facility guidelines
• Monitor patient progress, document treatment responses, and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Assist patients in improving strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance, and mobility
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and safe use of assistive devices
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and mobility using appropriate safety techniques
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, discharge planning, and patient education initiatives
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Promote patient independence and functional recovery through compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, anatomy, therapeutic exercise techniques, and patient care practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Strong clinical observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based rehabilitation care
Pay Rate
$43.56 - $48.44/hour
