Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist licensed Physical Therapists in providing high-quality rehabilitation services to patients with injuries, illnesses, disabilities, or functional limitations. The PTA will implement individualized treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, monitor patient progress, educate patients and caregivers, and help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility interventions
• Assist patients in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, balance, and overall functional mobility
• Administer therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques within the scope of practice and facility guidelines
• Monitor patient progress during treatment sessions and communicate observations and recommendations to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, mobility techniques, injury prevention, body mechanics, and safe use of assistive devices
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and the use of mobility aids and adaptive equipment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Participate in patient care conferences, discharge planning, and rehabilitation goal reviews
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment
• Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Promote patient independence, functional recovery, and overall well-being through patient-centered rehabilitation care
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise techniques, anatomy, and patient care practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Strong clinical observation and documentation skills
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based rehabilitation care
Pay Rate
$43.56 - $48.44/hour
