Certified Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
Support inpatient pharmacy operations by preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications accurately and safely. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure timely medication services for hospitalized patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Package, label, and distribute medications to inpatient units.
- Assist with medication cart fills, automated dispensing systems, and medication deliveries.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate medication records and inventory.
- Perform medication storage and expiration-date checks.
- Assist pharmacists with medication reconciliation and other pharmacy services.
- Follow medication safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred/required as applicable.
- Current state pharmacy technician registration or license as required.
- Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medication handling, pharmacy procedures, and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Pay Rate
$41.41 - $46.29/hour
