Job Title: Pharmacist

Position Summary

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role works closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and patients to optimize medication therapy while maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently
• Compound medications as required and ensure proper preparation and labeling
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosage, and potential drug interactions
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and proper administration
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
• Maintain accurate prescription records and medication documentation
• Supervise medication storage, inventory, and pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Support medication safety and quality assurance initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in the State of New York required
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, dosage forms, and therapeutic uses
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing
• Strong communication and patient counseling skills
• Proficiency with pharmacy software and prescription processing systems
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Previous hospital, emergency department, or retail pharmacy experience preferred
