Permanent HIM Director
We are seeking an experienced HIM Director to oversee health information management operations and ensure the accuracy, security, accessibility, and regulatory compliance of patient health information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee daily Health Information Management operations and departmental workflows.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, security, and confidentiality of patient health information.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and applicable healthcare standards.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate HIM staff and manage departmental performance.
- Oversee medical records, documentation, coding, release of information, and data quality processes.
- Lead audits, regulatory reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with clinical, compliance, IT, coding, and administrative teams.
- Develop and maintain HIM policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- RHIA certification preferred/required.
- Previous HIM leadership or management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, medical records, coding, health information systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Pay Rate
$95,000.00 - $130,000.00/year
