Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapist (Outpatient) to evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and congenital conditions. The Physical Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy services, and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve mobility, motor development, functional independence, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, posture, range of motion, and functional abilities
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on each child's developmental needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, functional mobility training, and manual therapy
- Evaluate and treat children with developmental delays, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, torticollis, orthopedic conditions, genetic disorders, and neuromuscular impairments
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
- Educate parents and caregivers on home exercise programs, positioning, mobility techniques, adaptive equipment, and developmental activities
- Recommend and train patients and families in the use of orthotics, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Foster a supportive, engaging, and family-centered therapy environment
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric physical therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pediatric development, rehabilitation techniques, anatomy, and evidence-based therapy practices
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
